Executive Team


Thomas Sandgaard has been the Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of Zynex, Inc. since founding the company in 1996. He has previously held management positions with companies such as ITT, Siemens, GN Danavox, Dataco and Philips. Most of his work has been in the areas of international sales and distribution, technology transfers, mergers and marketing management in the semiconductor, telecommunications, data communications and medical equipment industries. Mr. Sandgaard has a degree in electronics engineering from Denmark’s Odense University of Engineering and an MBA from Copenhagen Business School. Mr. Sandgaard has an in-depth knowledge of the industry and is the driving force of the Company strategies.


Mr. Hartberger has more than 25 years’ experience in multiple industries with proven leadership in operations, general management and finance roles from start-up support to M&A and divestitures. Prior to joining Zynex, he worked in various areas of business operations, including business and operations strategy, operations planning, quality systems, cultural change and organizational development. As the COO of Summit Container, he helped manage a significant revenue increase and opened 3 remote operating sites. Then in 2014, he contributed to a successful sell-side transaction of that business to a strategic buyer. As an executive with Plantronics, Inc. (NYSE:PLT), in two of their divisions (Clarity and Altec Lansing), he acted as Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Finance/Accounting and Director of Finance, Administration and Operations. While with Altec Lansing, he was a member of the executive management team that divested the division to a private equity firm in 2009. Previously, Hartberger served as an executive officer with Greentree Investment Corporation, in which he held various senior-level positions, with the last being Vice President/General Manager for one of their portfolio companies. His professional experience spans various industries, including telecommunications, consumer electronics, private equity, retail, medical, manufacturing and managed services. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and executive studies from Harvard Law, Darden Graduate School of Business, Belmont Graduate School of Business and Slone School of Management (MIT).


Robert Bird is the VP of Marketing responsible for all marketing, in-side sales and compounding products within the rehabilitation and pain management markets for the Zynex Medical division of Zynex. Mr. Bird has over 20 years of sales and management experience and holds a B.S. Degree in Business Administration from California State University, Hayward.


Michael Frabotta the VP of sales and is responsible for Zynex Medical’s sales organization promoting electrotherapy and compound pharmacy products throughout the United States. Mr. Frabotta has over 14 years of successful sales and management experience with RS Medical and ERMI, Inc. At RS Medical a once national competitor in the electrotherapy arena he successfully served as a Director of Sales, National Director of Payor Contracting, Regional Manager, and Sales Representative. Mr. Frabotta received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh where he specialized in Orthopaedics.


Robert “Bob” Cozart is the VP of Technical Operation who develops and manages all of the teams that make up the Purchasing, Production, Service, Warehouse, Facilities, and Shipping and Receiving departments. Mr. Cozart has over 26 years of management experience in electronics manufacturing, primarily with Class II and Class III medical devices with such companies as HEI, Colorado Medtech, Pfizer/Valleylab and Medtronic. Mr. Cozart holds an MBA from Creighton University in Omaha and a BS in Business from the University of Colorado in Boulder.
